Caley Thistle defender Josh Meekings says his team-mates are determined to bring more silverware to Inverness this season.
Caley Jags have enjoyed great success in the cup competitions over the past two seasons, losing in the 2014 League Cup final to Aberdeen on penalties before winning the Scottish Cup in May with a 2-1 victory against Falkirk.
Inverness, who drew 1-1 at Dundee United on Saturday, face Livingston in the third round of the League Cup tomorrow night.
Meekings said: “It would be fantastic to do well in the cups this season. It is definitely an aim. We want to see if we can do something like that again.
“Winning the Scottish Cup was something I will never forget and the best memory of my football career.
“To do that again would be amazing but we have to take it game by game and work hard.
“Hopefully, we will have enough quality on Tuesday night to do the business.”
Meekings scored the equaliser against Dundee United on Saturday after former Caley Thistle forward Billy Mckay had given Jackie McNamara’s side the lead.
The Englishman has only recently returned to the team after a hip injury and is delighted to be back on the pitch.
He said: “No one likes being injured and it is not something I want to happen again anytime soon.
“I have been quite fortunate with injuries and I only missed one game last season. That was because I was being rested rather than injured.
“Unfortunately, I picked up a little injury at the beginning of the season but I am happy to be back now and delighted to get on the scoresheet.
“I think the draw was a fair result. We made a sloppy start to the match which cost us a goal but we improved after the break and got at Dundee United a lot more.
“We created a few chances and could maybe have gone on to win.”
Richie Foran made his first league appearance for 18 months after knee surgery and Meekings believes the return of the club captain is a major boost for his side.
He said: “He is a big character in the dressing-room. Everyone knows how strong a character he is.
“He is a big, physical presence and I don’t think the centre halves liked it when he came on at the end. I wouldn’t like it if he was coming on against me.
“We know the type of player he is and he will be able to keep the spirits up in the dressing-room, too.”
