Caley Thistle manager John Hughes says he is keen to press ahead with talks about his future with the club.
Hughes is out of contract at the end of the season and was recently the subject of interest from Premiership rivals Dundee United, who had an approach rejected by Inverness prior to their appointment of Mixu Paatelainen.
In his first full season in charge at Caledonian Stadium, Hughes led Caley Jags to the most successful season in the club’s 21-year history last year, winning the Scottish Cup and qualifying for Europe for the first time.
The former Falkirk and Hibs manager is keen to resolve his future and says he will sit down with chairman Kenny Cameron to discuss his next step.
Hughes said: “What has happened in the past two weeks has really helped me refocus my efforts on where I want to take this club.
“My contract is up at the end of the season and the focus is bringing more success to Inverness. We are in talks, although the chairman is on holiday.
“There’s no rush. I will be here until my contract finishes and we’ll keep talking and see if we can get something resolved.
“I’m the same as anyone else who will be out of contract – you are playing for your future.
“I want to keep my standards sky high so that when I sit down next with the chairman I can outline the path we need to take.”
Inverness host St Johnstone tomorrow, with Hughes looking for Inverness to bounce back after their six-game unbeaten run was ended by a 2-0 loss against Kilmarnock at Rugby Park last week.
Hughes added: “It was the first game back after the international break and all the stuff about myself and Dundee United, and there was no excuse for that performance. We will have to address that.
“Every now and then we get a wee jolt like that to kick-start us.”
