Caley Thistle midfielder Iain Vigurs took the acclaim from all corners of Fir Park following his stunning goal in the 3-1 win against Motherwell on Saturday, and hopes it can be the catalyst for an improvement in form.
Vigurs was released by the Lanarkshire outfit in the summer, after spending much of last season on the sidelines through a back injury, but the former Ross County player had no hard feelings on his return to Fir Park, and said: “It felt good – I could not have hit it any sweeter. I tried it in training the day before and nearly broke my knee. It’s definitely up there with my best as some of the Motherwell supporters were even clapping after it.
“They were good, which was pleasing because they were good with me when I did play. I got a few boos, but the majority of them were good.
“This season I have not played that well. I’ve been frustrated with my game but I felt I played a bit better on Saturday, which was good.”
