Inverness Caley Thistle have this evening suspended striker Dani Lopez pending a full investigation.
The decision follows Lopez’s dismissal in last night’s under-20’s game against St Johnstone.
The Spaniard, who has been absent in recent weeks due to a groin strain, scored the only goal of the game as his side beat St Johnstone 1-0 at Caledonian Stadium but he the spoiled his return by being sent off following an exchange a Saints player, who was also dismissed.
A statement on the Caley Thistle website said: “Following an incident during last nights under 20’s game versus St Johnstone at the stadium we can confirm that player, Dani Lopez, who was dismissed from the field of play has been suspended by the club until further notice pending a full investigation.
“The club will be making no further comment on last nights incident until this investigation is concluded.”
The striker has scored once in nine matches since joining the Caley Jags in the summer from Spanish third tier side La Roda.
