Ryan Stevenson scored a late winner as Partick Thistle came from behind to defeat Caley Thistle 2-1 at Firhill.
It took Miles Storey only six minutes to net his sixth goal of the campaign but Partick Thistle restored parity three minutes before the break through Kris Doolan.
The second period wasn’t quite as lively as the first but there was a sting in the tail for the visitors as Stevenson’s hopeful cross into the box found the back of the net in the final minute of the match.
Inverness made one change from the team that defeated Motherwell 3-1 before the international break with Danny Williams replacing Ryan Christie, who has returned to parent club Celtic for treatment on a knee injury.
Partick, who had lost just one of their previous seven matches against Inverness, welcomed back goalkeeper Ryan Scully from suspension, while Gary Fraser stepped in for Stuart Bannigan.
The game kicked off following a minute’s silence to remember those who lost their lives in the terrorist attacks in Paris as well as former Partick Thistle chairman Brown McMaster, who passed away recently.
Two early efforts from Iain Vigurs and James Vincent signalled Caley Thistle’s intent and it wasn’t long before they were in front.
Miles Storey showed great composure to finish off an excellent move by slotting the ball under Scully.
Caley Thistle goalkeeper Owain Fon Williams kept his side in front with a fine save to keep out Abdul Osman’s downward header with Kris Doolan hooking wide from the resulting corner.
The visitors almost doubled their advantage 10 minutes before the break with Williams poking wide from a Liam Polworth cross.
But it was Partick who got themselves back on level terms after 42 minutes when Doolan evaded a Josh Meekings challenge and fired the ball into the bottom corner.
The hosts could have gone in front after the restart when David Amoo capitalised on some slack play by James Vincent but his shot on goal flew wide.
Fon Williams made another inspired stop after 68 minutes, diving low to his left to keep out Steven Lawless’ low drive before tipping Robbie Muirhead’s effort on the follow up.
But Partick won the match in the final minute with substitute Stevenson’s cross evading everyone, including Fon Williams, and nestling into the far corner of the net.
