Former Caley Thistle midfielder Ryan Christie’s appetite for his Celtic debut has been whetted further by watching his new team-mates in recent weeks.
The Scotland under-21 international has been doing his rehabilitation with Celtic following a knee injury he suffered while playing for Caley Thistle at Motherwell on November 7.
The 20-year-old was recalled from his loan at Inverness and now hopes to be fit later this month.
After returning to Inverness immediately after following in his father Charlie’s footsteps by signing for Celtic, he now feels more like a Hoops player.
Christie said: “When I first signed in the summer, because I was back up in Inverness the next day, it was like it had never really happened after a few months had gone by.
“But now I am down here and in with the team, I feel part of the squad. I have been at a couple of games.
“I was at the Ajax game and that was pretty incredible. I could imagine it must be an amazing feeling playing in front of that many people. Just hearing the supporters makes me desperate to get out there.
“I found myself singing along under my breath when I was at a few of the games.
“The supporter-base is incredible and even walking through the town I have been noticed a few times, which is quite surprising, but good. I can’t wait to get out there and, hopefully, make an impact.”
