A trio of young Inverness Caley Thistle footballers are supporting a campaign to get people volunteering for a national charity.
First team players Jason Brown, Chris Blackett and Cameron Gilchrist have volunteered to work for four hours at Oxfam’s charity shop in the city’s Lombard Street today.
The players are supporting the nationwide Give a Shift for Oxfam campaign.
Inverness Caledonian Thistle chairman Kenny Cameron said: “When Oxfam approached the club, our young players were
keen to help out. The club works hard to support worthy causes in our
community, and giving a shift at Oxfam Inverness is a great
opportunity to do that, and for our young players to gain valuable
experience away from the world of football.”
Shop manager Pamela Nolan said: “We’re really grateful to Inverness Caledonian Thistle and especially to Jason, Chris and Cameron. This shop could not exist without our team of kind, talented and dedicated volunteers – and being such a busy shop, we need to recruit more.”
Anyone interested in volunteering or donating should visit the Oxfam shop at 9-11 Lombard Street, call 01463 242522, e-mail oxfamshopf6505@oxfam.org.uk or visit
