Caley Thistle edged back into the top six on goal difference following an uninspiring goalless draw with Partick Thistle at Caledonian Stadium.
Inverness faded following a bright opening as Partick returned to Glasgow with the point they came for in a game which was low on incident and goalmouth action.
Miles Storey came closest to breaking the deadlock early in the game when he ran on to David Raven’s through ball but Partick goalkeeper Tomas Cerny blocked his shot.
Despite dominating the first half Inverness could not make their possession count and it was a much improved Jags who appeared for the second half.
Partick were more competitive in the second 45 minutes but offered little in the way of an attacking threat and it was the home side who came close to a late winner with Storey forcing Cerny to make a fine save from 30 yards before substitute Liam Polworth fired into the side netting from six yards.
There have been some memorable matches at Caledonian Stadium over the years but sadly, this was not one of them.
