Aberdeen have reportedly made a deadline day bid to sign Inverness Caley Thistle midfielder Greg Tansey.
Derek McInnes has been looking to add to his midfield options this month, however, with Don Cowie set to move to Hearts rather than the Dons, McInnes has now reportedly turned to Tansey.
The Dons have reportedly triggered a £200,000 release clause in Tansey’s contract and it is believed a deal could be done before tonight’s deadline.
Tansey is currently in his second spell with Inverness, having rejoined from Stevenage in January 2014 just 18 months after leaving Caledonian Stadium first time around.
Last January the 27-year-old signed a two-year extension to his contract with the option of a third year.
The Englishman has been an almost ever-present for John Hughes’ side this campaign, scoring seven goals in 28 games.
Tansey could become the fourth player to move to the Dons from Caley Thistle in recent seasons, following Adam Rooney, Jonny Hayes and Graeme Shinnie.
