Caley Thistle midfielder Ross Draper is ready for the test of nerve and ability to come before the Premiership split.
Only six points separate fourth-placed St Johnstone and third-bottom Hamilton Accies with the chase to make the top six no clearer.
The Caley Jags could have moved into the top half of the table with a win at Dundee on Saturday, but Kane Hemmings’ late header cancelled out Draper’s early goal.
The result left Inverness in seventh position, but Draper, pictured, believes there is still all to play for before the split.
He said: “This is the tightest the league has been. We’ve drawn 1-1 with Dundee three times now and there are only eight points between fourth and 11th.
“Everyone is looking over their shoulders but also up as well, trying to nick into that fourth place.
“We’re disappointed not to get three points with Dundee scoring so late. We felt we did enough in the first half so we could come out and play just as well and get the job done, but sometimes it doesn’t work out like that and we’ve got things to work on. We didn’t deserve anything from the game based on our second-half performance. We were nowhere near what we’re capable of and what we showed in the first half.
“I know they scored late – it was my mistake for the corner that led to the goal – but we’re grateful for a point. It seems like we’ve dropped a couple of points but after about an hour we’d have taken that.”
Caley Thistle will not have to wait long for a chance to make amends for their below-par display with a trip to Tynecastle to face Hearts tomorrow night before Sunday’s Scottish Cup quarter-final against Hibernian.
The midfielder added: “We’ve got two games in Edinburgh now and they’re great games for us to be involved in.”
