Caley Thistle forward Miles Storey is in limbo after netting his final goal for the Highlanders in Saturday’s 4-0 win against Dundee.
The on loan Swindon Town forward opened the scoring against the Dark Blues with his 13th goal of the season before goals from Danny Devine, Ross Draper and a Richie Foran penalty completed the rout.
The goal rounded off a successful campaign for Englishman Storey, who finished the season as Caley Thistle’s leading-scorer.
With his contract up in the summer, however, Storey is unclear about where he will play next season, and said: “I’ve been in the game long enough to know what happens. I am looking forward to a break and going on holiday and trying to sort myself out for next season.
“I’ve enjoyed it and being in limbo it’s quite sad this could have been my last game for the club.
“That’s 13 goals, but I would like a few more and I hate the number 13. But with the chances I’ve had throughout the season I am quite happy with 13. This is the first time I’ve been at a club and managed to be the leading-scorer.
“The manager has been brilliant to me and they are a great bunch of players. I have been trying to concentrate on the games and doing my best for Inverness and, hopefully something will follow in the next couple of weeks.”
Storey found game-time hard to come by with Swindon, making just 37 appearances for the English League One side, but the 22-year-old reckons the move to Inverness has helped resurrect his career.
He added: “My body is finished for the season. I think Hamilton’s Astroturf took it out of me, but my fitness and understanding of the game has got better.
“My runs are being timed better, even though I’ve been caught offside a few times which is disappointing.
“But the experience and being part of the team every single game has been brilliant.”
