Caley Thistle manager Richie Foran believes midfielder Iain Vigurs is capable of winning a move to a higher level.
Vigurs was instrumental in the Highlanders’ impressive Betfred Cup group campaign, following up a hat-trick in last Tuesday’s 5-1 victory against Championship side Dunfermline with a goal in Saturday’s 7-0 triumph against Arbroath.
Inverness qualified for the last-16 of the competition as the winners of Group D, setting up an away tie against League 1 side Alloa on Tuesday.
Vigurs is in his second spell at Caledonian Stadium having had spells with rivals Ross County and Motherwell prior to his return last summer, with the Aberdonian handed a new two-year contract earlier this summer after netting eight goals in his first season back at the club.
With the 28-year-old having already reached half that tally just four games into the new campaign, Foran reckons Vigurs is approaching the peak of his career and reckons a move to a bigger club is not beyond him if he maintains his current form.
Foran said: “I’ve seen a change in Iain over the last four or five months. He was married in the summer, so maybe that’s helped settle him right down.
“He’s looked really good and really focused over the last few months. He’s really determined and a real strong character, great in the dressing-room and on the training ground.
“He’s got tonnes of ability. I think he can move on, he can go on to bigger and better things if he keeps on the way he’s playing, and keeps applying himself the way he is on the training ground. He’s a wonderful talent.
“Maybe we all peak at different times and maybe this is his time when he’s starting to peak.
“He’s a very driven guy, he’s mentally very strong and determined.”
