Caley Thistle have taken former Falkirk and Hibernian forward Farid El Alagui on trial.
Moroccan El Alagui is a free agent after leaving Championship side Hibs at the end of last season. He scored two goals for the Highlanders in a bounce match against Highland League Clach at Grant Street Park on Wednesday.
The 31-year-old is aiming to prove his fitness to Caley Jags manager Richie Foran after an injury-disrupted two-year spell with the Edinburgh club, in which he played just 21 times, scoring seven goals.
France-born El Alagui made his name in Scotland after joining Falkirk in 2011, with 27 goals in 43 appearances earning him a move to English side Brentford, then in League One.
Having failed to make an impact with the London club, El Alagui moved on loan to Dundee United in 2014, prior to his move to Hibs later that summer.
Foran has given El Alagui the chance to earn a deal at Caledonian Stadium but said no deal will be done before tomorrow’s Highland derby against Ross County, with a decision expected next week.
Foran said: “He’s in and we’re having a look at him. He’s been out injured for a while but he’s looked good and he scored a couple of goals for us against Clach.
“He’s a good footballer, he’s really clever and has good game awareness.
“He’s one we will look at over the next week.”
Caley Jags defender Chris Brown is believed to be a loan target for League 2 club Arbroath, with the 19-year-old impressing in Inverness’ 3-0 defeat by Dick Campbell’s side in the IRN-BRU Cup last week.
