Caley Thistle midfielder Ross Draper is remaining calm despite his side propping up the Premiership table after losing their first two games of the season.
Saturday’s 3-2 Highland derby defeat by Ross County compounded a miserable week for Richie Foran’s side, with the 2-0 league loss against Partick Thistle followed by a 1-0 defeat by League 1 side Alloa Athletic in the Betfred Cup on Tuesday.
Liam Boyce’s hat-trick secured the victory for County, with Andrew Davies netting an own goal prior to an excellent goal by Draper in the second half.
The downturn in form follows a promising performance in the Betfred Cup group stage but Englishman Draper is not alarmed by his side’s three latest results.
Draper said: “We’re staying positive. There are a lot of big characters to pull us through, so there’s no panic or anything like that. We’re two games into the league season and we’ve still got 31 games before the split.
“We’re trying to get used to a change of manager and new players coming in. We’re playing in a different way. We’ve got things to work on but, as a group, we need to stick together and make sure we turn results around.”
Draper’s goal came on his return to the team, having been dropped to the bench for Inverness’ previous four games. He is determined to add more goals to his game this season after scoring five last term.
The 27-year-old added: “All I’ve done is got my head down and tried to work hard. Thankfully, I’ve done enough to push for a place.
“It was a disappointing result and a tough one to take. There are positives to take from the game but things to work on as well.”
