Peterhead manager Jim McInally has urged his players to ensure they are not League 1’s fall guys.
In a remarkable campaign just 11 points separate second place from bottom in the division and the Blue Toon are in the middle of a congested pack, four points from 10th and five points from fourth.
Predicting anything other than Livingston winning the title is a near impossible task and McInally has urged his side to make sure they pull away from the bottom by winning at Stranraer today.
He said: “It’s a massive game for us as we know if we win we’ll move seven points clear of bottom place.
“Given the way the season has gone that’s massive.
“I find myself saying every weekend it’s a big game but that’s just the way it has been this season. This has been a good league, but a tough one to play in and we know somebody is going to have to drop down a division.
“Right now I’m focusing on making sure it’s not us, but we know if we win two or three games we’ll push ourselves right into the play-off race. It’s unbelievable.
“We’ve played a game more than the teams above us so we need to pick up points. We’re on a decent run and want to keep it going.”
Midfielder Simon Ferry returns after being rested for the 1-1 draw with Albion Rovers last weekend due to a back strain.
