Peterhead manager Jim McInally has told his players they have no time to wallow in the pain of defeat to Queen’s Park.
The Blue Toon are in relegation trouble and the former Morton manager said: “I do not think they deserved to lose the game.
“Queen’s Park had one shot on goal in the first half and they have scored from it. Even then it went in with a deflection. Their second goal was a mile offside and I do not think there is any doubt about that.
“Credit to Queen’s Park as I have a lot of time for them. They are a good side with a good manager but when you are down, you are down and there is no getting away from that just now. We did not over work their goalkeeper but we did have some really good opportunities through Rory McAllister and Jordon Brown.
“Rory’s chance in the second half summed up how things are going for us at the moment. The ball fell to him in a position where I would always expect him to score, but he did not.”
McInally was also annoyed to not have been awarded a penalty and added: “Rory is adamant that he should have been a penalty but instead he got booked. That means he is suspended for two of the final four games and I will be looking into that.
“I will be doing my best to pick the players up but it is hard just now. I have told them that it is four cup finals and they need to try and embrace it. There’s nothing up with their attitude, they are working their socks off and if I felt there was a lack of effort, I would not be here.
“No one has died, it’s just a game of football, but if the players come through these four games they will feel better than they did for everything they achieved last season.”
