Peterhead manager Jim McInally will not replace David McCracken in his management team and will instead allow some of his senior players to try their hand at coaching.
Former Blue Toon coach McCracken was confirmed as Falkirk co-manager until the end of the season last week, along with former Aberdeen striker Lee Miller.
Having arrived at Balmoor as a player in the summer of 2017, McCracken started as a coach last year.
Now he has left the Buchan outfit McInally will give the likes of Mick Dunlop, Simon Ferry and Derek Lyle the opportunity to be more involved in coaching as well as playing.
McInally believes defender Dunlop, 37, midfielder Ferry, 31 and striker Lyle, 38, all have coaching qualities which can benefit Peterhead.
He said: “I’m not really too concerned about bringing in another coach, the burden can be eased internally really.
“Myself and David Nicholls have worked together for long enough so we can take care of things.
“And within the playing squad there is good coaching potential.
“We’ve got Simon Ferry, Mick Dunlop and Derek Lyle who are all really good.
“Although Simon is a bit younger than the other two he takes training for the Glasgow boys on Thursday nights and is really good.”
McCracken did much of his work with the Blue Toon’s defenders, but Dunlop can do the same according to McInally.
He added: “Mick can definitely do what David did in terms of the defensive work.
“He’s got great experience to pass on to the other defenders at the club.”
