Jim McInally is looking forward to assessing trialist Max Barry in Peterhead’s pre-season friendlies.
The 18-year-old midfielder has joined the Blue Toon for pre-season in an attempt to win a contract.
Barry left Aberdeen earlier this summer and hopes to make his breakthrough in senior football having been in the development ranks with the Dons.
Peterhead have five pre-season friendlies arranged – the first of which is against Dundee at Dens Park tonight – prior to their opening game of the season in the League Cup against Dundee United on October 10.
Blue Toon manager McInally is looking forward to seeing how Barry gets on during those games, but has already been impressed by his attitude.
He said: “Max is with us at the moment and I’ve liked what I’ve seen from him.”
As well as Barry, McInally has been running the rule over Broughty Athletic attacker Derryn Kesson.
Kesson was recommended to McInally having impressed in the Dundee Junior ranks.
Another player McInally is set to cast his eye over is former Ross County winger Gregor MacDonald.
The 19-year-old from the Black Isle left the Staggies this summer and is set to feature in Peterhead’s double-header of friendlies this weekend against Fraserburgh and Formartine United.
