Ross County forward Alex Schalk is happy for fellow attacker Liam Boyce grab the limelight after his double helped the Staggies secure a 2-0 win against Kilmarnock at Victoria Park on Saturday.
Boyce’s two goals followed his hat-trick in the previous weekend’s 3-2 Highland derby victory against Caley Thistle which got the Northern Irishman off the mark for the season.
Schalk, who came off the bench to set up Boyce’s second goal against Killie, is equally happy to help others find the net and the 24-year-old said: “I’m delighted for Liam. Every forward wants to score goals and in last week’s game and against Kilmarnock it was Liam.
“It’s not really important who scores. We all want to score the goals but it’s about the three points and that’s two weeks in a row we’ve managed that, so we can go on from here.”
County were criticised for their exit from the Betfred Cup at the group stage, which was followed by a 3-1 home defeat by Dundee on the opening day of the Premiership season.
Schalk has been pleased with the response in securing back-to-back victories, and the Dutchman added: “The cup was very disappointing for everyone involved at the club.
“Once that happened we had to move on. We can’t stay in that moment and have to go on.
“Six points from the first three games is all right. Maybe we’d have hoped for seven but we can take positives and go on from here.
“In the first half against Kilmarnock we had a couple of dodgy moments in front of our goal but overall we really deserved the win.
“It’s good for the team to get six points from three games and we hope to continue this consistency.”
