Ross County stalwart Scott Boyd was the surprise departure on deadline day when he joined Kilmarnock on loan for the rest of the season.
The 29-year-old has been an integral figure in the club’s rise through the ranks to the top flight of Scottish football, but County manager Jim McIntyre has allowed the central defender to move to Rugby Park for the rest of the season.
Boyd has been with the Staggies since 2007, helping the club win promotion to the SPL and reach the Scottish Cup final in 2010.
He was also part of the club’s League Cup-winning squad of last season, capping a memorable campaign in which he became the club’s record appearance holder since they joined the Scottish League.
County released another defender earlier yesterday when Chris Robertson terminated his contract, which had one year remaining.
The 30-year-old joined County on a free transfer from Port Vale last summer and went on to make 26 appearances in his debut season.
Opportunities for Robertson have been limited however, with all of his three outings for the Staggies this season coming in the Betfred Cup.
