Ross County midfielder Tim Chow owes his team-mates after he was sent-off on his first start for the club in last month’s 4-0 defeat against Aberdeen.
Chow was shown the first red card of his career for a bad foul on Dons midfielder Jonny Hayes just 21 minutes into the game.
The Englishman apologised and, after returning from his two-match suspension to start the 1-1 draw against Rangers earlier this month, Chow is eager to show his moment of folly was a one-off. Chow, who joined County from English Championship side Wigan Athletic in the summer, said: “It was really difficult. It was the first card of my career and it was completely out of character.
“I was really disappointed with what happened. It was not like me at all.
“It was hard to take, but I feel stronger for it now. I want to make up for it to the team and the manager.
“I was disappointed as coming to a new club no-one knew me and what type of person I am.
“That’s not me at all, so I felt as if I had let them down.
“I felt terrible, but I am stronger for it now and I will learn from it.
“I know what I have done wrong and there was no malice in the challenge. The other players have been great and said it has happened to others at some stage in their careers.”
The Dingwall men recovered from the loss of an early goal to secure a point against the Gers in their last fixture, but the result was not enough to prevent County slipping to the foot of the Premiership table.
The Staggies are without a win in 10 games, but Chow is confident that will change if his side replicates its display against the Ibrox side, starting in Saturday’s trip to St Johnstone.
The 22-year-old added: “It was a good result and performance against Rangers and it’s important we carry on that level of performance in every game we play in.
“We fell behind after a good start against Motherwell and it went downhill very quickly.
“Confidence is not as high as it has been, so to get together and come back against a good Rangers team show how strong we are.
“We are all in this together, competing for one another and we know we are not as bad as the league table shows. We are nowhere near that, we’re miles better.
“It’s all about getting results. We have a lot of characters at the club, there is resilience and I’m sure we will be fine and start getting results.”
