Ross County moved off the bottom of the Premiership on goal difference after coming from behind to draw 1-1 at home to St Johnstone.
County got off to the worst possible start as they fell behind within 80 seconds, with attacker Denny Johnstone bundling the ball home from close-range after being picked out by David Wotherspoon’s delivery.
County were thwarted in their attempts to find an equaliser, with Zander Clark doing well to beat away Andrew Davies’ header from a Chris Eagles corner.
The Staggies levelled from the spot on 53 minutes, when Eagles was tripped just inside the box by Chris Millar, allowing recalled striker Alex Schalk to send goalkeeper Clark the wrong way.
County pushed for a winner and they were somehow kept out by Saints on 75 minutes, with substitute Billy Mckay was twice denied by goalkeeper Zander Clark, after efforts from Jason Naismith and Schalk had failed to find the net.
The failure to find a winner means County have still won just one of their last 11 matches, ahead of Saturday’s crucial trip to Partick Thistle.
