Ross County manager Owen Coyle hopeful midfielder Greg Tansey will make his long awaited debut

Ross County manager Owen Coyle has resigned.

Ross County manager Owen Coyle is hopeful midfielder Greg Tansey will be available to make his debut within the next fortnight following a groin injury.

Tansey arrived on loan from Aberdeen this month having struggled to shake off the injury, which he initially suffered in pre-season before undergoing an operation in September.

The Englishman and defender Sean Kelly, who also has a groin injury, will not make tomorrow’s Premiership trip to Motherwell but Coyle reckons former Caley Thistle player Tansey should be back in contention early next month.

Coyle said: “We would expect him to be back in a couple of weeks.

“It was important we addressed one or two injuries he picked up at Aberdeen.

“Rather than playing him when he’s only 80% fit, we wanted to get him 100% fit.

“After a little procedure he’s had done we would expect to have him back in two weeks.”

Bottom-of-the-table County suffered a 1-0 defeat by Kilmarnock in the fourth round of the Scottish Cup on Saturday but return to league action for the first time since the winter break when they take on Motherwell in the Premiership tomorrow.
