Ross County ended a nine-game winless streak with Ross Stewart’s double helping them come from behind to defeat Hibernian 2-1 at Victoria Park.
Hibs enjoyed the better of the first half, with former Staggies defender Jason Naismith hitting the crossbar with an effort from the edge of the box which followed a Scott Allan corner, while another set-piece delivery from the former Celtic midfielder was nodded over by Christian Doidge.
County’s best first half opportunity fell to Brian Graham just after the half-hour mark after the ball broke his way off Hibs defender Ryan Porteous, however goalkeeper Chris Maxwell was quickly off his line to thwart the effort.
Hibs took a deserved lead on 35 minutes however, when Doidge’s header from Allan’s free kick squirmed through the grasp of Nathan Baxter, who initially looked to be equal to the effort.
County were vastly improved after the break however, with Stewart pulling the Dingwall men level when he headed home a deep Josh Mullin delivery, before completing the turnaround with another header from Michael Gardyne’s deflected cross 10 minutes later to end the Staggies’ barren run.
The result, which is a first defeat for Hibs under Jack Ross, moves County six points clear of the foot of the Premiership.
