Ross County boss Stuart Kettlewell was pleased his team were able to stay unbeaten, as well as giving the Staggies supporters watching at home a bit of excitement.
The Dingwall drew 2-2 with Kilmarnock at the Global Energy Stadium last night.
Ross Draper’s header was cancelled out by Alan Power, before veteran winger Chris Burke gave Killie the lead. However, Ross Stewart secured a point for the home team with a late penalty.
Kettlewell said: “We spoke at the start of the season about dealing with the empty stadium and entertaining the fans at home.
“That was a cracking game. Both teams had spells in the game, both teams had chances. There was a bit of incident in the game.
“That’s what we wanted to achieve, although firstly we wanted three points.
“But we have to create a spectacle and a good game of football if we can and I thought it was a decent one.
“We have no right to dominate any game from start to finish, but we did dominate a lot of the first half and I thought we had a decent chunk of the second half.”
Kettlewell expressed disappointment with the two goals his side conceded, but admitted he “can’t be too critical” after County’s first three results of the league campaign.
The boss said: “I know Kilmarnock came right back into it and were more expansive in the second half, but we did dominate large parts of the game which I’m really pleased about.
“But I always know the opposition, whoever we play against, will have something in the game – varying styles and ways of playing – whether it be direct or trying to play through us.
“The frustration for me was we conceded two goals in that spell. I thought we’d maybe weathered a storm.
“It was from us being in possession that we concede, so I’ve just said to the players I take full responsibility for that by asking them to try to pass the ball and try to be creative.
“As such, when you come up against good players like Chris Burke on the right, against young Josh Reid, it is as good an education as he’ll get.
“These guys can punish you and we know that.
“I can’t be too critical – it is seven points out of nine at the start of the season.”
