Ross County defender Tom Grivosti has suffered a fresh setback in his return from a foot injury.
Englishman Grivosti has been sidelined since last October, after undergoing surgery on a freak toe injury he suffered in a collision with Rangers striker Alfredo Morelos.
Although Grivosti had returned to training, Staggies manager Stuart Kettlewell has revealed the 21-year-old’s comeback has been put on hold but is hopeful the setback is not too serious.
Kettlewell said: “Tom had a setback the other day, he pulled up with the foot again.
“That was a sore one to watch, because we thought it was maybe a little bit worse than what it actually seems right now.
“He has had a scan and been to see a specialist, who has assured us that it’s not too bad.
“He’s probably going to need another couple of weeks before he comes back into training again.
“It’s a frustration for all of us and Tom, who has been out since last October, but I’m hopeful that it’s nothing too dramatic and it will tidy itself up in the next couple of weeks.”
County’s only other injury absentee is midfielder Joe Chalmers, with Kettlewell hoping to receive an update on the former Caley Thistle player’s groin injury.
Kettlewell added: “He had a wee bit of a reaction in his groin, so we’ll get a wee bit more information on that.
“We were let down with an appointment last week, and the next opportunity we had was Thursday, so we’re waiting to hear back on that.
“He has been working and training, but he still has a bit of an issue with his groin.”
