Ross County manager Stuart Kettlewell has confirmed the Staggies have turned down fresh bids for striker Ross Stewart amidst reported interest from Rotherham United.
The Millers have made contact with County over a possible move for Stewart, and are believed to be preparing an opening offer of around £300,000.
The 24-year-old, who finished as County’s joint leading scorer on 11 goals last term, is in the final year of his Victoria Park contract and has been the subject of transfer speculation throughout the summer.
Rotherham could face competition from fellow English Championship side Sheffield Wednesday who are also believed to be interested, along with League One sides Shrewsbury Town and Fleetwood Town.
Kettlewell has previously indicated he values Stewart in the same bracket as Lyndon Dykes and James Scott, who have left Scottish clubs to join English second-tier sides for seven figure fees in recent months.
Although Kettlewell confirmed further bids have been received, he insists County’s valuation of Stewart has yet to be met.
Kettlewell said: “There have been another couple of bids for Ross but it has all fallen seriously short of the mark from what we value the player at.
“I will stress the fact there is no change in our scenario. We have been pretty transparent with the interested parties in how we value the player, and each time that has come up significantly short.
“I will say again, I have spoken to Ross’ representatives. I speak to them on a regular basis, and I did prior to all of this anyway.
“From speaking to the player there is no change in the situation. We are very comfortable with it, the player is comfortable with it, and we just continue as is.
“He has been so valuable to us for the last two years, and I don’t see that changing any time soon unless somebody meets our valuation of the player.”
County return to action following the international break when they host champions Celtic on Saturday, in a game which the Staggies are hopeful of welcoming supporters for the first time this season as a test event.
Kettlewell is eager to return to action after suffering a 1-0 defeat to Livingston in their last outing, and he added: “We lost our last game, so we definitely want to get back into action as quick as we possibly can.
“We are no different. We gave the players a couple of days off and everyone has come back in good condition with no injuries of note on top of what we already had.
“From my point of view I’ve got a full group of players to pick from, we have had a couple of good training days and we will just look to the rest of the week and preparing for Celtic.”
