Ross County have made their second signing of the close season after forward Jake Jervis signed a a pre-contract with the Dingwall club.
The 22-year-old – who will join County on July 1 – is a free agent following his release from English League 2 club Portsmouth in May and previously played for Turkish side Elazigspor.
The six ft three ins Wolverhampton-born attacker began his career with his hometown club Wanderers in 2001 before moving on to Shrewsbury Town and then Birmingham City in 2006.
Jervis was loaned out to seven different English teams during his time with City – Hereford, Notts County, Swindon Town, Preston North End, Carlisle, Tranmere Rovers and Portsmouth – and will be hoping he can establish himself following his move to Victoria Park.
Staggies manager Derek Adams said: “We had to compete with a number of English league clubs for his signature.
“Jake will be a great addition to our squad for next season.”
Jervis follows Joe Cardle in making the move north after the Raith Rovers midfielder also signed a pre-contract with the club last month.
