Ross County manager Derek Adams admitted to being concerned about the Mackessack Park playing surface prior to his side’s 4-0 pre-season friendly victory against Rothes last night.
However, the Staggies manager praised his squad for coming through the match unscathed, scoring some fine goals in the process with captain Richard Brittain netting two.
Adams said: “I wasn’t sure about it before the game. It was obviously difficult but I thought the players were really professional and dealt with it, and I just wanted them to get through the game.
“It’s always good just to get 90 minutes of football at this time of the season, and we got a run out for everybody last night. We’ve played two games, we’ve got another four games to go so everybody’s still getting up to fitness, as we’ve only been back 10 days now.”
