Ross County goalkeeper Scott Fox made an easy decision to commit his future to the Staggies after signing a 12-month contract extension.
Fox has earned many plaudits in his 29 appearances for County since arriving from Premiership rivals Partick Thistle last summer.
The Bellshill-born goalkeeper has taken the move to the Highlands in his stride, with Fox keen for his fiancee Charlotte, who lives in Glasgow, to join him in the north.
Fox said: “Everything has clicked. I think people can see in the way I play, I enjoy it. There’s a freedom I’ve got. Everything has just worked – the lifestyle as well.
“I like everything about the place, and I like it that much I want to move my girlfriend up. We’re getting married in the summer.
“The club has been brilliant to me and it has worked out perfectly.
“I’m getting experience and I’m happy up here. Everything has gone well for me so I don’t see why I should change club.
“I know the ambition of the club’s directors and management and the facilities are second to none. I know I’m lucky to have the position and I know it is down to me – I need to keep my form at a high level and keep pushing on to keep my place in the team.”
Fox’s first season has not been without its setbacks, with the 28-year-old suffering two lengthy absences due to ankle and knee injuries, the latter keeping him out of County’s League Cup final victory against Hibernian in March.
The former Celtic goalkeeper believes the hurt at missing out on the win makes him all the more determined to play in another final with the Staggies, and he added: “I take the highs with the lows. Winning the cup and reaching the top six meant we achieved our targets. They were great achievements.
“The lows were getting injured a few times, but the positives were coming back stronger and picking up where I left off. That was good for me and the club and showed everything is working.
“It has been a good season and hopefully it continues. Missing the League Cup final gives me something to drive towards as well. I want to be in a final and winning trophies.”
