Ross County shot-stopper Scott Fox could be in line to make his international debut after Scotland manager Gordon Strachan was forced to make sweeping changes to his national squad.
Scotland will face off against Italy in a friendly match at Malta’s Ta’ Qali National Stadium on May 29 before heading to Metz to play France on June 4.
Fox has been called up alongside Stephen Kingsley, Craig Byson and Hearts’ young goalkeeper Jack Hamilton, with Scott Bain and Allan McGregor pulling out from the squad.
He has appeared in a number of Scotland squads in the past but is yet to make his full senior international debut, having last represented his country at Under-20 level in 2007.
Kingsley could also be in line to make his senior international debut for Scotland after being named as the Swansea City’s under-21 player of the season.
France and Italy are currently 24th and 15th in the Fifa world rankings respectively, with Scotland lying 46th.
