Manager Jim McIntyre rested his weary Ross County players yesterday after two weeks of solid work on the training ground.
The Dingwall men will tonight face Soroksar, a second-tier Hungarian side they drew 1-1 with a year ago, at Telki on the outskirts of the Hungarian capital Budapest.
Missing will be defenders Marcus Fraser, with four weeks of recovery on a shoulder operation still to go, and Paul Quinn, who is returning from a minor groin operation.
Defender Scott Boyd returned home immediately after his arrival at Budapest to greet the arrival of his new baby daughter.
New signing Christopher Routis, a French defensive midfielder, is recovering from a calf strain, but McIntyre hopes to have attacker Michael Gardyne back after a bout of blisters.
The manager said: “It should be another very stern test. We have seen how good Hungarian opposition can be, but also how they like to mix it a little bit physically.
“That is ideal for us as it reminds the players we are in a competitive match, rather than a meaningless friendly. The players have put in a tremendous amount of work both before and since we arrived in Hungary and I’m delighted with how they’re progressing.”
McIntyre has no new trialists in Hungary but is still open to recruiting more signings to add to the five players already brought in.
