The Scottish FA has delayed its decision on whether to stay at Hampden or move to Murrayfield.
A decision was anticipated this week but the SFA board has asked for further information following submissions from the parties representing the national stadium of football and rugby respectively.
SFA chief executive Ian Maxwell said: “This decision will have a significant bearing on the game in Scotland.
“We have asked both parties for additional information to be submitted within seven days to allow a final decision to be made.”
SFA president Alan McRae leads the board which also comprises of vice-president Rod Petrie, Maxwell, Mike Mulraney, Neil Doncaster, Thomas McKeown and Ana Stewart.
It is anticipated a final decision on where the national team plays and the venue of semi-finals and finals of the Scottish Cup will be made until after the Uefa Nations League match against Albania on September 10.
