Aberdeen defender Mikey Devlin’s chance of making his Scotland debut on Saturday hang in the balance due to injury while another former Don has become the ninth withdrawal from Alex McLeish’s squad.
The former Hamilton Accies centre-half, was called into the squad but did not feature in the friendly loss to Portugal last month but was in contention to make his debut alongside clubmate Scott McKenna this weekend in the Nations League.
However, Devlin, who was excellent in his side’s 1-0 win against Hibernian at Pittodrie on Friday, faces a fitness race for Saturday’s game in Albania after being deemed as having a 50-50 chance of featuring by the Scotland medical staff.
Former Dons captain Ryan Jack, now at Rangers, has been ruled out of this weekend’s game and Tuesday’s home match against Israel due to injury.
Jack, who was one of four late call-ups to the squad, suffered a knee injury in his side’s 7-1 win against Motherwell at Ibrox on Sunday.
