East End are left flying the north flag in the Scottish Junior Cup after a 3-1 win over Newmachar United in their third round clash at New Advocates Park.
Cai Matthew, Josh Bolton and Ross Chouman were on target for the home team, with Liam Mewse firing a second half reply for United.
The Aberdeen team will travel to Larkhall Thistle in the last-16.
Ellon United went down 3-1 at Dundee East Craigie, where Paul Constable, Jordan Conway and Rory Faulkner all scored for the Tayside team, and Scott Gray notched United’s consolation.
At Glenury Park, early strikes from Paul Brennan and Darren Maguire gave visitors St. Roch’s the interval advantage, before Keith Horne pulled one back for Stonehaven in the second half.
With Hive pressing for the equaliser, the Glasgow outfit hit twice on the break late on through Kieran Daw to give them a somewhat flattering final scoreline.
Culter drop first league points
In the McBookie.com NRJFA Premier League, Culter dropped their first points of the season when they were held to a 1-1 Crombie Park draw by Dyce.
Both goals came late in the first period, with Dyce going ahead through Sam Robertson before Cammy Fraser equalised.
Leaders Hermes went three points clear at the top of the table with a 5-0 victory at Maud – Jack Craig grabbed a double, Callum Youngson converted one penalty and missed another, while Grant Mitchell and James McMahon also found the net.
Dufftown remain bottom after going down 5-1 at home to Montrose Roselea.
Keiran Thomson (two), Eric Watson, Adam Davidson and Jordan Reoch were the visitors’ marksmen, with Finlay Stables on target for the home side.
Mervyn Grant’s counter wasn’t enough to prevent Nairn St. Ninian from losing 2-1 at home to Stoneywood Parkvale, while Banchory St. Ternan were beaten 4-2 by Colony Park at Milton Park. Josh Byers, Greg Dorrat, Kyle Gordon and Nathan McKeown were on the mark for the Inverurie side with Brett Findlay and Dean Henderson responding.
At Heathryfold, Sunnybank defeated Forres Thistle 5-1 to remain clear at the top of the Championship, with Kevin Robertson firing a treble, and Adam Reid and Josh Petrie also scoring.
Craig Smith and Shaun Faskin were the Rothie Rovers hitmen in the 2-0 success at Deveronside, with Charlie Rothnie (two) and Scott Milne on the scoresheet for Banks o’ Dee JFC in the 3-1 win at Islavale, where Brodie Christie scored for the home team.
At Woodside, a Jamie Brown brace and Adam Rennie did the damage for Glentanar in their win over Lossiemouth United and, elsewhere, Aberdeen University and Burghead Thistle enjoyed 3-0 home successes against New Elgin and Buchanhaven Hearts, respectively, and Cruden Bay drew 1-1 with Longside.
