The Scottish champions would apparently face stiff competition for the 26-year-old with Reading and Bordeaux also monitoring his situation. Serero is in his last six months of his contract with the Dutch giants and was not even handed a squad number at the start of the season. He may be a familiar face for some Hoops fans after he played twice against them in the Champions League in 2013. The South African will reportedly leave Ajax in this month’s transfer window either on loan or his contract will be mutually terminated. The move is a stark turnaround for Serero who just two years ago was linked with a big money move to AC Milan. He has been capped 30 times for South Africa.
