Hibs midfielder Scott Allan has handed in a transfer request as speculation over his future continues.
The 23-year-old boyhood Rangers fan has been the subject of two failed bids from the Ibrox club in recent days, with a third bid expected this week.
Rumours today also suggested that Aberdeen had lodged a £250,000 bid for the midfielder.
Hibs have issued a statement outlining the fact they will do all they can to hold onto their star man: “In the face of continued media interest, Hibernian Football Club can confirm that Scott Allan has today handed in a written transfer request.
“This comes on the back of two unwelcome and uninvited approaches from Rangers FC regarding Scott, the first for £175,000 and the second for £225,000.
“Hibernian FC has refused both bids because the club has no wish to transfer a valuable player to strengthen a major rival in the battle to win the Championship and gain promotion to the Premiership.”
Allan started his career at Dundee United as a 10-year-old, spending 11 years on Tayside before joining West Brom in 2012. He struggled to break into the Baggies first team but enjoyed two loan spells at Portsmouth, as well as loan periods at Milton Keynes Dons and Birmingham City during his team south of the border.
The attacking midfielder returned to Scottish football with Hibs at the start of last season and enjoyed a stunning campaign, winning the Championship PFA Player of the Year Award.
