Formartine United YFC and the visiting Colony Colts claimed a point each with a 1-1 draw in the U16 C game on Saturday.
Tom McNeill, the Formartine manager, said: “The morning started off with a few call-offs through injuries.
“On to the game, a patched-up midfield couldn’t get a grip on the tie; we defended well and then, just on half time, gave away a penalty and went in trailing 1-0 as a result.
“We battled our way back into the game but could take our chances.
“Some good saves from our keeper Andreas kept us in the game, and finally, a great turn and shot on the edge of the box from captain Kian salvaged a point for us.”
Both teams have 10 points this season.
Formartine United YFC have 16 goals in total. They have scored five goals at home and 11 goals away in the U16 C.
Colony Colts have scored 15 goals in this campaign. Away from home they have scored eight goals and seven goals on home ground.
Elsewhere in the U16 C Aboyne FC defeated 4-1 Culter United, Kintore United FC picked up a narrow 4-3 victory against Huntly FC and Northstar CFC won 3-1 against Turriff United YFC Lions.
