Ellon Meadows’s coach Scott Johnston said: “An awkward start for us against the wind in Inverurie.
“It was end to end with Blackburn putting on the early pressure which we soaked up well.
“We had a couple of chances first half, but Archie Lawrence-Clark and Marcus Annand both shot high and wide.
“Second half was neck and neck until Blackburn managed to squeeze a soft header in at the post and take the lead in 46 minutes.
“We came back positively however, and some excellent tenacious forward play from substitute Harry Campbell set up Aiden Topping to smash home the equaliser in 64 minutes.
“Our lads probed hard for a winner late on, but it wasn’t to happen and we had to settle for a draw.”
