Badial leads the field in cross country race series

Scotland under-20 hill running international Anisha Badial (Aberdeen AAC) is one of the top pre-entries for this winter’s Running Shop cross country race series which gets under way at Knockburn Loch near Banchory on Sunday.

The series, which features races for all ages, continues at Balgownie playing fields, Bridge of Don (December 3) before moving to Haddo House (January 28) and finishing at Camperdown Park, Dundee (February 11).

There will be prizes based on accumulated times over the four meetings as well as awards for the leading finishers at each venue.

The race programme will be the same at each meeting:

Boys/Girls Try-A-Trail,5-8 year-olds, 800m:11.30am

Senior Men/Women, under-15 boys, under-17 boys and girls, 3 miles:11:45am

Under-11 girls, 1 mile: 12:20pm

Under-11 boys, 1 mile:12:45pm

Under-13 boys and girls/under-15 girls, 2 miles: 1pm

Senior men and women, 6 miles: 1:30pm.
