Aberdeen gymnast Orianne Slater has retained her Scottish title and been crowned 2017 Scottish Disability junior champion.
Slater, who was diagnosed with Perthes disease at the age of six, a condition which has led to hip deterioration, retained her title at the Kelvin Hall in Glasgow.
The victory continues her remarkable season after she was named 2017 British Disability junior champion.
Slater’s win in her final competition as a junior was a memorable one with the 15-year-old’s overall score higher than competitors in the senior category.
City of Aberdeen Gymnastics head coach Lorna Presly said: “Well done to Orianne on retaining her title.
“It was a fantastic competition to end 2017 with and, having gone clean on all four pieces of apparatus routines, she can look forward to more big events in 2018.
“Next year begins with Orianne attending the Disability Masters, part of the Scottish artistic championships, at Perth in February.
“This will be her first competition in the senior age group. Then in March, if selected, she will be competing at the British Disability Masters, part of the gymnastics British championships 2018 in Liverpool.”
Mum Lydie said: “Many thanks to Lorna for coaching and supporting Orianne all through her junior career and to City of Glasgow Gymnastics for sharing their specialist training expertise and facilities.”
