Earlier this week McBookie.com Superleague side Bridge of Don Thistle announced on its Facebook page that all members of the squad, backroom staff and committee were each donating a food package to be delivered by the club van to a local charity and inviting anyone who wished to add their support, to do so.
Following on from the post, collections arrived throughout yesterday.
Manager Lewis Muirhead, player Max Alexander and under-16s manager David Duncan delivered the food packages to Charlie Devine Court sheltered housing complex.
Thistle president Barry Park said: “We as a club are glad we are able to help in some form during this difficult time for many.
“It’s inspiring to see everyone at the club still coming together during the football shutdown while keeping social distancing to support those in need.
“The club never stops, we do what we can, when we can to support those in the Bridge of Don community.
“If we can assist anyone in the area please get in touch via the club Facebook page.”
A spokesman for Charlie Devine added: “We can’t thank you enough for your kindness, it really does show what a fantastic community we have.”
