Scottish Open: McIlroy and Mickelson in pursuit of leader Broberg
ByAndy Skinner
Kristoffer Broberg currently leads the way in the Aberdeen Asset Management Scottish Open at Royal Aberdeen.
The Swede took full advantage of the dry early conditions, shooting an opening round of 65, to go in six under par.
Rory McIlroy is hot on his trail however, having shot five under par after 11 holes, while defending champion Phil Mickelson birdied the 13th hole to go four under par.
Russell Knox is enjoying a fine return to links golf, having shot four under par after 16 holes, a position he shares with fellow Scot Marc Warren. Meanwhile Aberdonian David Law is currently one under at the fifth.
There had huge doubt over whether Richie Ramsay would be fit enough to play his hometown course, however he emerged this morning and is currently level par eight holes in.
