Russell Knox has made a storming start to his round to take a share of the lead in the Aberdeen Asset Management Scottish Open at Royal Aberdeen.
The Inverness golfer, who plays on the PGA Tour in the United States, has eagled the par five second and sixth holes and birdied the fifth to move to eight under par, level with Sweden’s Kristoffer Broberg.
Overnight leader Rory McIlroy is two shots behind the leaders after dropping a shot at the first hole.
While Knox is flying the flag for Scotland in the tournament, home favourite Paul Lawrie is making the short trip home after missing the cut.
The Aberdonian finished two over par following his second round one under 71.
