New Aberdeen Asset Management Scottish Open champion Justin Rose has called for the tournament to return to Aberdeen.
The Englishman won his first title in Scotland as a professional as he shot 16-under-par at Royal Aberdeen and with the tournament moving to East Lothian next year Rose is looking forward to making his defence.
The 33-year-old is also keen to see the event return to the Balgownie links, which played host to the tournament for the first time.
Rose, who is in the field for the Open at Hoylake this week, said: “I played a British Amateur at Gullane and Muirfield so I have vague memories of the course.
“I know it is a great area for golf.
“I think with the sponsors Aberdeen Asset Management, Royal Aberdeen has felt like a great home for the tournament.
“You guys have so much great courses up here. I know it goes to Gullane and then Castle Stuart but it would be great if it comes back to Royal Aberdeen.”
