Greg McBain’s victory in the Paul Lawrie Invitational earned him not only his biggest prize of £7,500 but also booked him a trip to Turkey for the PGA Play-offs.
The leading three players in each PGA region’s order of merit go forward to the end-of-season highlight at Antalya Golf Club from November 29 to December 1.
The Paul Lawrie Invitational was the final PGA in Scotland order of merit event and McBain made a last-gasp surge up the points table to finish in second place behind Greig Hutcheon, who won last year’s PGA Play-offs.
Graham Fox finished third. So it will be Hutcheon, McBain and Fox carrying the banner for Scotland in Turkey.
It is the third year in a row Hutcheon has won the Scottish order of merit title and the fifth time in all since 2006.
