Aberdeen Lynx face off against the Dundee Comets in a crucial league game this Saturday at the Aberdeen Linx Ice Arena.
The Aberdeen team currently sit fifth in the league, just one point and one place behind their Dundee rivals so Saturday’s match promises to be a tightly contested affair with both teams desperate for the win.
The Aberdeen team will be in high spirits after their confidence-boosting win over the Kilmarnock Storm last weekend, which saw them run out comfortable 8-2 winners in a match they dominated from start to finish.
Aberdeen Lynx head coach, Rod Ramsay, is looking for another dominant performance from his team, but is expecting a tough encounter this weekend.
Ramsay said: “This weekend’s game against the Dundee Comets will be a hard fought affair as always. The team needs to be ready to meet the opposing challenges that the Comets will bring, as it will no doubt be a physical encounter.”
The game is made even more important by the fact that the Comets have two games in hand on the Lynx, meaning a Comets win on Saturday, coupled with wins in their two spare games, would put broad daylight between the teams, however a Lynx win would put the pressure back onto the Comets and the rest of the league.
The match promises to be a full on encounter with a spooky twist, as this week Lynx fans have been asked to dress up in the best Halloween costumes for the occasion. The winner for the best costume competition will be announced on the evening.
The teams face off tomorrow at 7pm.
