Gordon Mutch is looking forward to competing in the inaugural Praga Cup.
The 19-year-old racing driver from Turriff will be taking part in the new championship in Czech manufacturer Praga’s R1 model.
Mutch enjoyed a successful 2021 driving for Praga in the Britcar Endurance Championship where he won two races.
Mutch will serve as pro driver and race coach to his team-mate Jimmy Broadbent, a sim-racer and Youtube star.
The duo also raced together last year and Mutch said: “I’m really excited to be racing with Jimmy and Praga again this year.
“Jimmy and I learned a lot about the car over the course of last season, and I’m hoping we can carry the momentum from our double win at Donington Park into this year.
“I can’t thank Praga enough for the opportunity to join them again for a second season.
“I’ll be aiming to reward the faith they and my partners have shown me with some strong results this year.”
Mark Harrison, managing director of Praga Cars, said: “We’re very happy to have Gordie back with team Praga for another year.
“His pairing with Jimmy will no doubt challenge the front-runners and go down well with the fans.”
The Praga Cup begins in March at Silverstone’s grand prix circuit.
It also features rounds at Oulton Park, Snetterton, Silverstone’s national circuit, Donington Park’s national circuit and grand prix circuit as well as a non-championship round at Belgium’s Spa-Francorchamps.
