Aberdeen Lynx are looking to build some game momentum as they head south to play against North Ayrshire Wild tomorrow.
The Lynx, riding a wave of confidence this season, head into this weekend’s match full of confidence after an exhilarating third period comeback in last week’s game against rivals, Dundee Comets.
Lynx forward, Mark Laing, said: “The team are coming up against the Ayrshire Wild at a good time. They haven’t managed to achieve a victory yet in this season’s league and are lingering at the bottom end of the table.
“We have achieved a reasonably strong position in the league table so far and we are looking to continuously climb it. The team have been a lot more focused this season and we are looking forward to seeing what the other team can bring to the ice.”
A victory for the Lynx this weekend would see them close the gap on the top teams in the league and they could leapfrog the Dundee Comets if the Comets are defeated in their next game.
After the last Lynx away game ended in a disappointing result against Kilmarnock Storm, Lynx head coach Rod Ramsay is keen to see the team improve on their away game results.
Ramsay said: “The team have been playing brilliantly in practice recently and they just need to ensure they bring their passion and enthusiasm from training into the away games. We seem to play extremely well at home usually, however, we slip up when we venture to other rinks.
“The team is much more driven this year and seem to be sporting a winning attitude, especially after winning Club of the Year back in August at the Sports Awards. We want to make our supporters proud so we need to improve our away game focus.”
Face off for the game is at 18.30 at Auchenharvie ice rink this Saturday evening.
