Aberdeen Lynx will be looking to continue their run of good form this weekend as they take on the Solway Sharks in the SNL.

Undefeated in their last three matches, a victory for the Aberdeen Lynx would see the team open up a two point lead over the Sharks in the league standings, increasing the pressure on the top teams in the league.

The two teams share an identical successful record in the league so far this season, which means fans can expect a very close encounter on Saturday.

Confidence is high within the Lynx team after last weekend’s victory away and head coach, Rod Ramsay, is keen to see his teams success continue.

“The team has been improving every week and I would like to see the guys continue to work well as a group, which is the key in keeping our unbeaten run going.  North Ayrshire played well last week, and it was a tight game right up to the end.”

Rod Ramsay believes a key factor to the teams improved form has been generated from positive team building and good team spirit from the club as a whole.

Rod Ramsay, commented: “The team as a whole get along very well with one another on and off the ice.  There’s a huge difference in the players character this year, and the team is not so much about one or two players anymore.  We’re tackling the league as a team now, and are all working to get the same result.

“The way the team can rebound when we get knocked down, is fantastic, although as a coach, it is admittedly pretty stressful.  I try and give credit to the players character shown throughout the month to boost morale within the team.”

Despite defeat in their last match the Solway Sharks pose a serious threat to the Lynx this weekend.  Rod is expecting nothing less than an extremely difficult match.

The head coach, said: “This is going to be a very competitive match, we need to put pressure on the Sharks goal from the start, and that means crashing the net for rebounds and driving goals into the net.

“The form of the goaltenders will have a big say on the outcome of the match, as both teams have very talented netminders who know they are in for a challenge this weekend.”

The Lynx face off against the Solway Sharks this Saturday.  Doors open at 6pm and the game officially kicks off at 7pm at the Linx ice arena.
